Waiver Program

Sometimes just referred to as a "Waiver" is a program through which the states gets federal approval (waivers) to provide long-term care and support services in people's homes or communities for individuals who would otherwise need institutional care, like in a nursing home, offering flexibility for those with disabilities or chronic conditions to live more independently. These waivers let states expand Medicaid beyond standard rules, covering services like personal care, case management, and adult daycare.

e.g. CLTS, Family Care, IRIS
